Thank you for wanting to share your memories.
WHAT TO GIVE US?
We are interested in collecting written memories, photos, videos, audio files, documents and artworks about the location 13 Garrett Street, from anyone who interacted with it in any way.
Please help us by curating your content before you give it to us. If you have heaps of photos or videos from an event at Garrett Street, please pick the best few rather than giving us ALL of them. We are collecting decades worth of memories. Quality over quantity.HOW TO GIVE IT TO US?
There are a few different ways you can share your memories of Garrett Street for our archive.
If you would like to share a WRITTEN memory, with maybe one or two photos, you can log it directly in our TIMELINE.
If you would like to share a quantity of stuff (photos, audio files, videos, documents) you can directly upload a folder or bunch of files to us via FILEMAIL.
You can also come to 13 Garrett Street to deliver us physical materials, or to transfer files directly onto one of our hard drives.
If you are giving us a bunch of photos or stuff that could do with context, feel free to upload a .txt file at the same time that explains the story behind the stuff you are giving us.
FILE NAMING
Please RE-NAME YOUR FILES before you give them to us. This will help us massively. If you are submitting a whole folder of stuff, naming the FOLDER will do.
Time is running short so if you don't have time to do this, just send us your stuff anyway.
Otherwise, please follow this naming convention:
DATE first (YearMonthDay), then SHORT DESCRIPTION, then YOUR NAME
At the very least, please DATE your files
If you don’t know the exact date, you must at least guess the YEAR.
For example:
2022.02_BirthdayParty_JohnDoe
1990_RaveOnTheRoof_ChrisJ
More examples:
2024.12.01_Lvl2Kitchen_KathleenWinter
2024.01.24_OutsideGarrett_JohnDoe
2025.07.03_OllieGig_Anonymous

WHAT WE WILL DO WITH YOUR FILES
We will download them from ~The Cloud~ and store them securely on three physical hard drives. Your files will only be on a cloud server briefly, and we don't use Amazon or any of the other Big Bads. Long-term storage will all be local.

Content you put on the Timeline will be immediately made public, and will also be downloaded and stored on hard drives.
At this point we are focusing on COLLECTING, and we are open to ideas for USE AND DISTRIBUTION of content in the archive. Maybe someone will make a zine? Or a movie? Or an exhibition? Or a mix tape?. . .
Our intention is for everything collected in the archive to be publicly available - at some point. So please don’t submit your secrets, just history that you want to share.
