Museum of Garrett Street

a community archive

About Us

This is a 100% volunteer run community archive.

Who are we?

A group of current and former residents of 13 Garrett Street, plus many friends and fans of the building. This project is open for anyone to get involved in whatever way interests you.

Some names of people involved:

Kathleen Winter, documentarian and former resident. She is leading the collection of DIGITAL CONTENT, especially VIDEO. She will also be conducting INTERVIEWS.

Emma Cullen, archivist and museum and heritage studies master, is guiding us with best practice. We recommend you read her zine about community archiving.

Peregrin Hyde is leading the collection of AUDIO materials - especially live music recordings. He is also building the Garrett TIMELINE.

There are many others who have conducted interviews, taken photos, organised a fundraising party, created a zine, collected physical posters, etc etc etc: Sasha. Ollie. Amber. Éimhín. Achille. Florence. Sarah-Lee. Rosa. Cameron. Esther.

Some Values:

  • ✰ Data sovereignty
  • ✰ No big corps (we won't use google or amazon services to store or transfer data)
  • ✰ No making $$ off content in the archive
